Boarding up is the process of using a sterling board or marine ply and attaching it to the affected area, ultimately covering it up. This allows the affected piece of glass to be covered, securing your property once again. Boarding up is only a temporary solution to glazing emergencies, but it does remain effective. Here at Swift Glass, we have developed 20-years of experience, and we understand that some people do not like the look of boarding up, that is why we offer alternative services to making broken glazing, a safe area again. Our most used, alternative service is a micron safety film, this comes in 2 sizes, 100mm, and 200mm, this allows the work to be tailored specifically to the property and cover the affected area. The micron safety film holds the affected pieces of glass together and contains it in one section to prevent further spread of the issue. Our experts also make double glazed units, how this is done will be dependant upon the damage, whether the area affected is one or two panes. The extent of the damage allows our team to make the perfect unit safe, as our goal is your safety and security.
